Friday

to play, to learn

here,
in our home,
in our "school"
there is much time
for
books,
for
nature,
for life learning and
for
play...

i believe play is such.
an important part.
of learning.

“Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.” Friedrich Froebel

“Almost all creativity involves purposeful play.” ~ Abraham Maslow

“Men should learn to live with the same seriousness with which children play.” ~ Nietzsche

“Play is the highest form of research.” ~ Albert Einstein

my home has dress up clothes
scattered throughout,
rocks, stones, shells in dishes
and adorning tabletops,
dolls sleeping on floors under
fabric scrap blankets,
balls of yarn,
piles of finger knitting,
and wooden blocks, food and
people hidden in the most random places
and i never know why they are there
but
they do.
there is a world of imagination that
dwells in my home and
i welcome it,
i invite it to stay.

here,
we imagine,
we play.
